The 2025 African Rally Championship (ARC) has intensified, with Uganda’s Yasin Nasser and Kenya’s Nikhil Sachania engaging in a fierce battle for the top spot.
The two drivers finished on the ARC podium in the Mountain Gorilla Rally in Rwanda, with Nasser taking second place with a total time of 50:57.2 minutes and Sachania claiming third place with a time of 54:12.2 minutes.

Competitor Patel Suffers Setback
Defending ARC champion Karan Patel and his navigator Taussef Khan’s chances of winning a third Africa Rally Championship title were severely impacted after a roll in stage three of the Gorilla Rally.
The incident caused significant damage to their Skoda Fabia’s gearbox, resulting in a DNF (Did Not Finish). Patel has only completed one round so far, the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally.

Vohra Wins Mountain Gorilla Rally
Meanwhile, Kenyan driver Samman Vohra dominated the event, winning the Mountain Gorilla Rally with a total time of 48:46.7 minutes. Vohra’s consistent performance earned him the top spot.
Next Round: Burundi Rally
The next round of the African Rally Championship will take place on August 15th-17th in Burundi. The battle for the championship is expected to intensify, with Nasser and Sachania likely to push hard for the top spot.
