Uganda Premier League
Express FC 1-2 URA FC

Express FC head coach, Badru kaddu suffered his first league loss since taking charge in October after Baker Mbowa’s dismissal his side went down 2-1 to URA FC.

In the highly anticipated game Walusimbi Enock’s header in the 41 minutes and Ivan Ahimbisibwe netted for the visitors while Sam Ssenyonjo scored Express’ consolation through penalty.

The Red Eagles who were unbeaten in five games could not cope with a spirited URA FC side that have been in good form of late.

This was Kaddu’s sixth game in charge at Express, having won three games, two draws and one loss. Speaking to the Rora media after the game, Kaddu described the loss as ‘a bad day in office’, attributing it to missed chances and a lack of composure in the final third.

“We had a setback, and I can’t blame anyone for that. We tried to create chances but failed to finish and lost momentum in the final third,” Kaddu said.

Despite dominating possession for large parts of the game, Express struggled to break down a resolute URA defense that stood firm throughout.

Kaddu, however, emphasized that the season is far from over and expressed confidence in his team’s ability to recover.

“It’s not the end of the league. We still have many games to play. The league is a marathon, and we will bounce back stronger,” he added.

The defeat sees Express remains third on the league table, with 19 points after 12 games. Their next test comes on December 21st, when they visit onform Kitara FC in Hoima.
