Real Stars Sports Monthly Awards together with ForteBET and Jude Colour solutions have awarded three Athletes from three sports disciplines for their outstanding February performance.
In an ceremony took place at the Molecule Restaurant located near DSTV head offices Impala Road Kololo on Tuesday Morning.
Three sports personalities were rewarded in the different disciplines of Chess, football and badminton and the different winners were; Wasswa Nyola Mark (Chess), Richard Basangwa (football) and Fadilah Shamika Rafi (badminton) .
The awards were tipped off with chess category were Wasswa Nyola Mark who won the 2026 Uganda National Chess Championship (Super 12) has concluded after three consecutive weekends of high-level competition and 11 demanding rounds of classical chess, officially determining Uganda’s representatives for the 46th Chess Olympiad in Samarkand, Uzbekistan and therefore with no doubt was rewarded the ForteBet RealStars Award for the month.
He defeated his teammates Olivia Asiimwe and Sana Omprakash.
In the football, Nec’s Richard Basangwa scooped the award over Goalkeeper Rojers omedwa and Vipers forward Milton Karisa.
Debutant Richard Basangwa stole the headlines with a brilliant brace on his first appearance for the Diehards, scoring the opening goal and sealing the win with the third goal tosecure a convincing 3-1 victory over KCCA FC in a thrilling StarTimes Uganda Premier League second-round opener at MTN Omondi Stadium .

Lastly for badminton,Uganda’s badminton star Fadilah Shamika Mohammed Rafi won the February badminton category award after been crowned African Queen at All Africa Badminton senior championship Gabrone, Baostwana.
Fadilah Rafi won gold in women’s singles and abronze medal in women’s doubles has she pathered up with Tracy Naluwooza at the All Africa Badminton senior championship individual .

On Sunday 15th February 2026 , will go down as one of Shamika Mohamed Rafi’s career highlights,as she bounced back to beat his long time rival South Africa’s Johanita Scholz 2-1 in the three sets Fadilah won 21-17, 16-21, 21-19 to claim the women’s singles gold.
The Ugandan badminton duo, Fadillah Shamika Mohamed Rafi and Tracy Naluwooza, secured abronze medals in the women’s doubles category at the 2026 All Africa individual Badminton Championship They lost .2-0 to South African’s Amy Ackerman and Johanita Scholtz in the semifinals (21-16, 21-10). Rafi deafeted his teammates Tracy Naluwooza and Arafat Tendo Kibirige .
Each winner walked away with an accolade and brown envelope.
