Namuwongo Blazers finally found their spark in the National Basketball League Finals, outmuscling defending champions City Oilers 80-70 on Tuesday night at Lugogo Indoor Arena to breathe new life into the best-of-seven series (2-1).

After two sluggish outings, it was benchman Peter Obleng who flipped the script delivering a career-defining performance with 20 points and nine rebounds to lift the Blazers when they needed it most. His energy and fearless shooting swung momentum in their favour during a tightly contested third quarter.
The Oilers had edged the first half 44-42 after both sides traded baskets early in a 24-24 opening quarter. But the tide turned after the break as Nam Blazers, spurred by a more disciplined defensive structure and sharper ball rotation, began to dictate the pace.

With just over four minutes left in the third, Obleng nailed back-to-back buckets to open an eight-point cushion their largest of the night as the Blazers’ bench erupted. Though the Oilers’ Kurt Curry trimmed the gap with a late jumper, Namuwongo held a slim three-point lead heading into the final stretch.
The last quarter belonged to the Blazers. Unlike the previous games, they played with poise and control, spreading the floor efficiently and punishing the Oilers on transition. Arthur Wanyoto (18 points) and Anthony Chukwubuka Chukwurah (14 points) complemented Obleng’s heroics, ensuring the Oilers’ late push never gained traction.

City Oilers’ trio Mer Maker (20 points), Kurt Wegscheider (18 points), and Jordan Bowie Chad (17 points) fought hard but couldn’t close the gap as the Blazers’ home crowd roared them over the finish line.
With the 10-point win, Namuwongo have reignited their championship hopes and if Obleng’s Game Three performance is anything to go by, this series is far from over.
