The Uganda U17 Boys National Team coach Brain Ssenyondo has maximum confidence as the Cubs kick off their campaign for a greatly desired AFCON U17 qualification slot today, afternoon against arch-rivals Tanzania.
The head coach of the Cubs, Brian Ssenyondo, exuded confidence and determination ahead of the derby clash, emphasizing the team’s readiness for the challenge.
“We know how heavy the tournament is, but we come ready to face it off with any opponent because the final goal is playing at the U17 World Cup. Today’s game against Tanzania is our first step into our dream, so we will fight for victory,” Ssenyondo stated.
The highly anticipated fixture, is scheduled for 4PM at the newly refurbished Hamz Nakivubo Stadium marks the first step in the Cubs’ journey toward the ultimate dream of playing at the FIFA U17 World Cup.
The Cubs have undergone rigorous preparation in the build-up to this regional tournament, with the coaching team focused on building a balanced squad that combines tactical discipline, technical brilliance, and physical endurance. This effort has culminated in the final squad announcement, with a mix of promising talent ready to don the national colours.
