KCCA makes statement following a commanding 5-0 win over wounded Bright stars FC under the Phillip Omondi Stadium floodlights in Lugogo on Friday.
Bright Anukani’s brace, Usama Arafat, Shafik Nana Kwikiriza, and Joao Gabriel Esteves Cardoso scored for KCCA in a one-sided thriller.
The kasasiro boys started the game on high note by scoring four goals in the first half.
They opened up the lead through talented midfielder Anukani in the 18th minutes of the game.
In the 31th minute, Usama Arafat doubled KCCA’s lead after timely run from Kwikiriza’s cross. Four minutes later, Saidi Mayanja made it 3-0 following a beautiful team move to tap home the third goal.
In the 39th minutes of the game Anukani scored a beautiful free kick to make it four as KCCA FC led the first half.
In the second half, Bright Stars tried to improve but KCCA remained solid and in the last ten minutes of the game Joao Gabriel Esteves Cardoso scored to guide the Lugogo based side to win their third consecutive premier league game following 2-1 victory over UPDF and 5-0 goal thriller against mbale Heroes.
The victory saw KCCA FC move fourth on the table standings with 34 points while Bright stars remained 15th in the Red zone with twelve points on matchday twenty one.
In the next matches KCCA will visit Kitara FC in Hoima on Saturday 5th April while Bright stars will hosts Police FC in the Kavumba Derby on Thursday 3rd April 2025.
