URA FC fought back to hold BUL FC to a 1-1 draw in a tightly contested Uganda Premier League clash at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo on Thursday.

The visitors looked the brighter side early on and nearly grabbed the opener in the 16th minute when Bruno Bunyaga delivered a teasing ball from the right, but Moses Aliro failed to hit the target.

BUL’s persistence paid off in the 34th minute as Richard Okello calmly finished off a well-worked move initiated by Reagan Kalyowa to hand them the lead.

URA responded with tactical adjustments before the break, introducing fresh legs in Godfrey Ssekibengo and Norman Namanya for Moses Waiswa and Ismail Mugulusi.

The changes sparked life into the Tax Collectors, and just before halftime, Bunyaga made amends by finding the equaliser in the 47th minute to restore parity.

The second half saw both teams raise the intensity, creating chances in search of a decisive goal, but neither side could find the breakthrough.

The result leaves BUL in eighth place on 31 points, while URA remain 11th with 23 points after 23 matches in the league campaign.
