The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has sounded the alarm over repeated security failures at Kasarani Stadium during the ongoing TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 in Kenya.

In a formal communication to the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), CAF expressed deep concern about breaches that have marred Kenya’s home fixtures, including the Kenya–Morocco clash on Sunday, 10 August 2025.
The continental body has referred the matter to its competent disciplinary structures for investigation and possible sanctions, warning that such lapses threaten both the safety of fans and the integrity of the tournament.

CAF officials are now working closely with the LOC and the Kenyan government to fast-track measures that will bring security operations in line with CAF’s Safety and Security Regulations.
The governing body’s message is clear: without immediate corrective action, the tournament’s smooth running — and Kenya’s reputation as host — could be at risk.
