The Uganda Premier League encounter between Calvary FC and SC Villa ended prematurely on Monday after match officials declined to resume the second half at Midigo Primary School Grounds in Yumbe.

SC Villa were leading 1-0 at halftime when the game was called off, cutting short what had been a competitive contest in the Uganda Premier League fixture.

In an official communication, the Uganda Premier League Secretariat confirmed the development, stating: “The Uganda Premier League Secretariat informs the public that the #StarTimesUPL match between Calvary FC and SC Villa (M#138), played at Midigo Primary School Grounds in Yumbe, was abandoned at halftime with the score at 0–1 in favour of SC Villa.”

The statement further explained the circumstances surrounding the decision: “The match officials did not resume for the second half due to concerns relating to match control, safety, and security within the stadium environment.”

League authorities have indicated that the matter is now under review, with the Secretariat noting: “A formal decision on the matter will be communicated in due course.”

The abandonment leaves uncertainty over the final outcome of the fixture, with both clubs and fans awaiting guidance from the league’s governing body regarding the next course of action.
