Calvin Hope Kabuye has been handed the Uganda National team debut in a starting lineup to face Congo in the 2025 group K AFCON Qualifier game at Alphonse Massamba – Debate Stadium in Brazzaville.

The crash is to to be kicked off in an hour time. Kabuye is the fresh face on the forward line as he will pair up with Denis Omendi. For the previous games, the Sandvikens IF striker has always been un used substitute.

in the other selections made by coach Paul Put, defenders Kenneth Ssemakula and Bevis Mugabi, goalkeeper Ismail Watenga, skipper Khalid Aucho, Roger Mato and Denis Omedi retained their numbers.

Ronald Ssekiganda, Travis Mutyaba, Calvin Kabuye, Isaac Muleme and Halid Lwalira are the changes from the team that was beaten by South Africa (2-0) at Namboole on Friday. They came in for Aziz Kayondo, Taddeo Lwanga, Allan Okello, Timothy Awany and Jude Ssemugabi.

It should be noted that it’s pride at stake as Uganda already qualified for the final tournament following South Sudan’s win over Congo in the previous week.
