Sarah chelangat and Kenneth Kiprop claimed the National Cross Country Championships on Saturday at Tororo Golf Club.
Sarah chelangat, a Prisons Athletics Club athlete, crossed the finishing line in 33 minutes and 50seconds to win the women’s 10km category.
“I think winning this National cross country championship title is huge boost for me the most important thing I thank my coaches, and God for this gold,” Chelangat told Rora media.
“But I still have a lot of things to do in the future at the Olympics and World Championships.” She added.
Meanwhile, World Champion Kenneth Kiprop topped the men’s senior race. The long distance runners athlete secured the 10km race victory in 29 minutes and 28 seconds.
Kenneth Kiprop speaking to Rora Media after winning gold medal he said, “Oh my God. At first I couldn’t believe that I won this year’s tittle. l like the crowd they cheered so much. they gave me a lot of morale.”
