The East African motorsport community has been plunged into mourning following the passing of veteran Kenyan motorsport administrator, navigator, and journalist Abdul Sidi.
The sad news was confirmed on Thursday evening by his close relative Anwar Sidi, who announced his passing and requested prayers for his family.
Abdul Sidi leaves behind an indelible legacy across East Africa.
A former Safari Rally navigator and seasoned journalist, Sidi was celebrated not only for his extensive reporting on motorsport across the region but also for founding the Abdul Sidi Rally Academy.
Through his academy, he trained and mentored dozens of drivers, navigators, and officials, shaping the modern era of African rallying.
Funeral arrangements and further details are expected to be shared by his family.
