Eight Ugandan teams comfirm participation at CAVB Zone V Volleyball Club Championship

Eight volleyball clubs are represent Uganda in the CAVB Zone V championship in both men’s and women’s category.

Four men’s teams including Sport-S, Nemo Stars, KAVC and UCU Doves as well as women’s; KCB Nkumba Volleyball Club, Ndejje University Elite Volleyball Club, Sport-S and KCCA VC confirmed participation.

The highly anticipated championship will commence from 16th February and climax on 23rd February, 2025 at the Lugogo Indoor Stadium in Kampala, Uganda.

The championship will kick off with team arrivals and a technical meeting on February 16, followed by six days of intense competition from February 17th to February 22nd. Teams will depart on February 23rd, concluding the event.

The tournament will feature the top three teams from each of the 12 CAVB Zone V member countries, with defending champions allowed to send four teams.

CAVB Zone V comprises of 12 countries in; Burundi, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda.

In the last edition, held in 2023 and hosted by Rwanda, Uganda was represented by Sport-S Volleyball Club (Men) and KCCA (Women).

Star players from Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda are expected to light up the courts with their exceptional skills. The championship serves as a platform for players to gain international exposure, attract sponsorships, and inspire the next generation of volleyball enthusiasts.
