Vipers stretched it’s unbeaten run with hard fought victory against UPDF

Vipers has stretched their lead on the Uganda Premier League (UPL) log with a 1-0 victory over UPDF FC today evening at Bombo Millitary Barracks.

In a closely competitive rainny day encounter, on form attacking midfielder Allan Okello’s lone strike for the visitors in the first half led them to their 9th victory of the 2024/25 Uganda Premier League campaign.

Vipers have now stretched their lead at the table with a 4 point difference between them and second placed NEC FC.

Viper’s left back Derrick Ndahiro was shown a straight red card in the second half that is the 77th minute of the game.

The result also means that Vipers have extended their unbeaten run to thirteen games against UPDF.

The venoms have won seven games and drawn four games since 15th September 2024 when they suffered their first loss of the season against NEC FC ( 3-1) at MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

The former kibuli SS student scored his 11 goal of the season and is Uganda Premier League leading top scorers followed by URA’s Ivan Ahimbisibwe on nine goals.

The Uganda Premier League six champions are table leaders with 31 points after 14 matches while UPDF drops to eleventh position on the log with 17 points from 14 matches.

UPDF FC will host Express FC on Monday 6th at the Bombo Barracks Millitary Ground while Vipers will host Maroons on Tuesday 7th at the St Mary’s Kitende
