“I’m really excited to be joining Vipers SC, one of the top clubs in Uganda. To me, signing for Vipers SC means joining a big football family with ambition and a winning mentality,” declared Usama Arafat Kiza shortly after sealing his move to the reigning StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions.

The 21-year-old winger, who left rivals KCCA FC at the end of his contract, has committed to a three-year deal with the Venoms. Usama expressed his desire to challenge himself at the highest level in Uganda, compete for trophies, and grow as a player through continental exposure. “It’s an opportunity to gain more experience, contribute to the club’s legacy, and represent Vipers with pride. I’m eager to get started, train hard, and make a positive impact,” he added.
His arrival marks Vipers’ seventh signing of the current transfer window, underlining the club’s intent to build a squad capable of dominating both domestically and in CAF competitions.
Usama joins with impressive numbers to his name. Last season, he scored seven goals and registered six assists in 23 appearances for KCCA, following up on the previous campaign where he tallied 10 goals and six assists across all competitions. Beyond club football, he has already made his mark internationally—captaining Uganda’s U-20 team to silver at the 2024 All-Africa Games in Accra, featuring for the Cranes with 11 competitive caps, and playing a key role in the 2025 CHAN side that reached the quarterfinals.
At Kitende, the left-footed attacker will compete for playing time with seasoned names like captain Milton Karisa, Odili Chukwuma, Robin Kane, and others, creating a healthy internal rivalry that promises to sharpen the Venoms’ attack.

Usama joins a refreshed squad alongside fellow new recruits Hney, Chukwuma, Mark Yallah, Kevin Dasylva Bady, Taddeo Lwanga, Ashraf Mandela, and Enock Ssebaggala. He will wear his favourite number 27 shirt and is expected to link up with his teammates after Vipers’ CAF Champions League clash against Namibia’s African Stars FC this Friday.
Welcoming their latest addition, Vipers hailed Usama’s creativity, flair, and determination as key attributes that will strengthen their push for glory on all fronts this season.
