On December 21, 2024, at Butema Stadium, Hoima, Goerge Ssekaaba’s hat trick, Jude Ssemugabi’s brace alongside Fred Amaku and David Ndihabwe’s strikes gave Kitara a 7-0 win which raised eye brows for the football fraternity more so on how FC’s goalkeeper, Emmanuel Kalyowa cheaply conceded some goals.

“There’s an investigation going on about that match, when we get any notification, our investigative team takes responsibility. Let us give them time and I am sure we shall get the real truth since they have all the tools to investigate,” Magogo said.

Magogo said that a strong investigating team was put in place to protect football in Uganda and through the year FUFA has netted 19 culprits who have been banned at different levels where no one has come up to challenge because of the concrete evidence available.

“We have used expertise to fight match fixing and that’s why all the 19 individuals we have banned no one has come out to challenge us,” he added.

“We shall ban more people if found guilty. FUFA has also asked the Ugandan Police to set up a department in charge of sports match fixing.”

He also hailed the different stakeholders including CAF, CECAFA, the delegates, players, the FUFA standing committees, the cultural institutions, coaches, fans and the developers of private facilities like Hamz Stadium, St, Mary’s Kitende and various schools.
