Express FC Appoints Becky Cynthia Nakimera as New Chief Executive Officer

Express FC have appointed Becky Cynthia Nakimera as the club’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), with her appointment taking immediate effect.

The seven-time Uganda Premier League champions announced the development as part of their efforts to strengthen the club’s institutional structures and drive long-term growth.

Nakimera joins the Red Eagles with a mandate to spearhead the implementation of the club’s strategic objectives, as Express seeks to enhance operational efficiency, improve corporate governance, and build a sustainable future for one of Uganda’s most decorated football institutions.

According to the club, Nakimera will focus on expanding commercial opportunities, strengthening relationships with supporters and stakeholders, empowering both the technical and administrative departments, and promoting a culture of professionalism, accountability, and excellence across the club.

The Express FC Board of Directors expressed confidence that Nakimera’s leadership and vision will play a key role in advancing the club’s ambitions on and off the pitch.

“Ms. Nakimera joins Express Football Club with a strong commitment to excellence and a clear vision for the Club’s continued growth and transformation. Her appointment marks an important milestone in the Club’s journey as it seeks to strengthen its institutional capacity, enhance operational efficiency, and build a sustainable future,” the club said in a statement signed by chairman Ssubi Kiwanuka

The Board also welcomed the new CEO on behalf of the club’s players, technical team, staff, supporters, partners and the wider Express FC family, expressing optimism that her leadership will usher in “a new era of unity, sustained success, and long-term growth.”

Nakimera becomes one of the few women to occupy the top executive position at a Uganda Premier League club, taking charge at a time when Express FC are working to restore their status among the country’s football elite.
