Entebbe UPPC made their early dominance count with a decisive 2-0 victory over Calvary FC, halting the visitors’ recent momentum and reinforcing their own steady campaign in Bugonga.

Both goals arrived before the break, allowing the hosts to dictate the rhythm of the match thereafter. Isa Bugembe broke the deadlock midway through the first half, reacting quickest inside the area after a dangerous corner delivery caused panic in Calvary’s defence.

With the visitors still trying to recover, Entebbe UPPC struck again from the spot. Ambrose Kigozi stepped up with confidence and converted after a foul in the box, adding to his impressive scoring tally this season and putting his side firmly in control.

Calvary, who had come into the fixture on a short unbeaten run, struggled to respond to the early setback. Their attacking efforts lacked the cutting edge needed to trouble a well-organised Entebbe backline.

The second half saw the hosts manage the game efficiently, limiting risks and keeping Calvary at arm’s length to secure all three points without major scares.

The victory lifts Entebbe UPPC to 43 points from 26 matches, strengthening their position in the middle of the table, while Calvary’s struggles deepen as they remain rooted at the bottom with just 13 points, their survival hopes continuing to fade.
