Bwera Bistro SMC Masaka Challenge Rally has been launched today at The Maze Restaurant at Forest Mall, Lugogo with drivers eager to showcase their speeds as they collect different Championship points.
The event will be run for two days over the weekend across four districts; Masaka, Ssembabule, Bukomansimbi and Kalungu. This will be the second round of National Rally Championship.
A total of 37 drivers including; Duncan Mubiru ‘Kikankane’ who has just returned his monster Ford Fiesta Proto from Lativia where it was upgraded, Ronald Ssebuguzi, Ponsiano Lwakataka, Yasin Nasser among others confirmed participation in the dubbed ‘Latvia of Uganda Rally’.
According to Jamiru Mucakaze the assistant event Clark of the Course, drivers will be doing six competitive stages on day one (Saturday) before doing the remaining three stages the following day (Sunday). These stages total to 262.69km of which 135.50km are competitive and 105.99km (liaison).
The 2025 NRC is led by Lwakataka on 57points followed by Ssebuguzi (53), Yasin Nasser (47) and Nasser Mutebi in forth on 46 points.
