Five Squash players set to represent Uganda in the Crown Paints Karen Open tournament in Kenya

Uganda’s top squash players will represent the country in the upcoming Crown Paints Karen Open tournament in Nairobi, Kenya.

The team consists of five athlete’s, three men including; Kasirye Paul kaddoma, Wasswa Paul, Jonathan Mwegaire and two ladies Julian Anoimugisha and Elizabeth Musiimenta

The tournament will take place from May 27th to 31st, 2025, at the Karen Country Club Squash courts in Nairobi. Over 50 squash players, including national champions and international stars, will compete in various categories.

The event aims to Showcase vibrant squash culture by highlighting East Africa’s squash scene, Provide exposure through giving players a chance to earn national ranking points. it also promote squash development through Feature workshops, junior coaching clinics, and outreach programs for underprivileged youth.

Team Uganda’s head coach, Michael Kawooya, expressed confidence in the team’s preparation, citing their recent performance in the Prof E.T Mutebile Memorial Invitational Squash tournament. He wishes the team all the best in the upcoming tournament.
