Rally drivers have been assured of the continued active calendar this year.
The Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) general secretary Reynold Kibira made the assurance on Sunday January 5,2025 during a drivers’ symposium held at SS Hotel in Nakulabye.

“You are aware the Federation has been having challenges since last year when our colleagues went to court. They misused the ruling trying to even stop events,” Kibira said.
“They went ahead to involve the Inspector General of Government (IGG) and even freezed our accounts. However, we have appealed through our legal team and I assure you our calendar will go on as planned,” Kibira added.

He lauded the drivers /competitors for spearheading the Symposium which is good for them and assured them of the federation commitment to support them and ensure their race in a safe environment.
Kibira also noted that this season Competitors will be able to race across the east Africa region using Uganda licenses and the same shall apply to their Kenyan and Rwandan counterparts who race in Uganda or Kenya.

This is made to uplift competition with the region and raise the quality of racing among competitors.
The symposium facilitated by Sporting Commission chairman Leon Senyange was attended by FMU President Jimmy Akena, treasurer Joseph Mwangala, Deputy Vice President in charge of rallying Joshua Mayanja, and UMOSPOC president Johnson Were.
