As Uganda prepares to host the East and Central Motocross Championship (CAC) and Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally, the Federation of Motorsports clubs in Uganda (FMU) has gained some relief as the Inspectorate of Government has agreed to unfreeze the federation bank accounts.
This was reached on after three mediation meetings with one held yesterday (Tuesday) between FMU officials and IG team led by IGG. The other two were held today (Wednesday) with one at Cooper Chimney restaurant in Lugogo in the morning between FMU and petitioners before later in the evening joining the last one with the IG team at the IGG office boardroom.

The mediations came after justice Emmanuel Baguma advice to the federation of seek an engagement with the IGG to try and solve the matter outside court. The federation had appealed to court to challenge the IGG’s order of freezing the accounts.
Federation accounts were frozen in August 2024 following a petition by Goeffrey Nsamba, a former rally driver accusing some members of the ExCom for administrative and financial impropriety in the federation affairs.

“We have therefore agreed to; vacate the IGG’s orders and to unfreeze all FMU bank accounts, vacate the order to NCS and PS/TS not to release funds to FMU but we will continue with investigation on allegations of financial impropriety in management of FMU funds,” said the IGG.

In the mediations still, it was reached on that all issues concerning the constitution be referred to constitutional review commission.

I’m Kaggwa Kenneth, I only here to thank you for the work done so far. May the almighty God bless you abundantly!!
