Tinashe Gatimu will yet again partner with her mother Caroline for another outing in the toughest rally, the WRC Kenya Safari Rally slated for March 20th – 23rd in Naivasha and Nairobi, Kenya.
The 18-year-old and her mother will be making their third outing in the Safari Rally, racing under the National category in a Subaru GC8.
The daughter and mother duo are part of the crews assembled under the KCB sponsored crews which received a sponsorship boost of Ksh23m all together.
“Competing in the WRC is an amazing feeling. So far, we have changed the engine and it’s performing well. Next, we will do some tuning to give us more kick-off power,” said Gatimu after the test drive.
Gatimu is optimistic she will register a better performance in this year’s event.
“I have an incredible group of people supporting me through the journey and helping me navigate the challenges of the sport.”
“My parents have been instrumental in my rallying career, and our sponsors have eased our participation in this prestigious event,” she added.
