Kampala, Uganda – Forty-five new football administrators, including delegates from Kenya and South Sudan, were certified at the Buganda Royal Institute after successfully completing the three-day Football Administration and Management Course Level One (FAMACOI).

The capacity-building program, organized by the Uganda Beach Soccer Association (UBSA) in conjunction with FUFA, concluded with a powerful address from the Federation’s 2nd Vice President, Dr. Taibu Azah, who underscored the critical role of continuous education in the modern game.

Dr. Azah re-affirmed FUFA’s commitment to developing its stakeholders and delivered a pointed message to the graduates: “Modern football goes beyond thinking about where it is right now. Football is a business, and since it’s a business, you as administrators must be ready to grow the business because it’s the business that drives the balls on the pitch.”

She cautioned the new administrators that without proper business governance, management, and sponsorship, “the balls on the pitch will fail,” stressing the necessity of professionalism to succeed in the industry.

Among the 45 participants were prominent figures such as Lady Doves Chief Executive Officer Ssanyu Consolate, Sand Cranes player Sharif Opuuli, veteran sports journalists, and officials like Achuil Dot Ador, the head of beach soccer in South Sudan. The diversity of the class, which drew participants from all eight FUFA football regions, highlighted the course’s wide-reaching impact.

The Vice President encouraged the graduates to view this Level I certification as merely the first step. “We congratulate you for this milestone and we pray that this is not the end but we move towards FAMACOII, FAMACOIII,” Dr. Azah said, urging them to seek out regional and international opportunities to expand their knowledge base, reinforcing that “Knowledge is power, and knowledge drives the world.” She added.
