Despite a spirited performance from Ingwe, who pushed for an equalizer in the dying minutes, Gor Mahia’s defense held firm to secure all three points and bragging rights in Kenya’s biggest football fixture.
The victory sees Gor Mahia cement their position at the summit of the table. With 29 matches played, they now sit on 61 points, opening up a significant six-point lead over second-placed AFC Leopards (55 points).
