The engines are primed, the dust is ready to fly, and the spirit of competition, interwoven with a heartfelt tribute, is set to ignite Gulu. The Rajiv Ruparelia Memorial Rally, a highlight of the National Rally Championship, is gearing up for two days of thrilling action on October 9th and 11th, promising an unforgettable spectacle for motorsport enthusiasts and a meaningful remembrance for a cherished legacy.

This year’s rally is a formidable challenge, spanning a total distance of 260.88 kilometers, with a grueling 132.63 kilometers of competitive racing that will test the mettle of even the most seasoned drivers. The remaining 128.25 kilometers of liaison will provide brief respites between the high-octane stages.

Day One (Friday, October 10th) kicks off with a bang, featuring a mix of speed and precision:
Noblakes: A demanding 15.01 km stage that will immediately sort the contenders from the rest.
Wobbly: A technical 27.42 km stretch, promising twists and turns that demand absolute focus.
Super Special Stage Rajiv Ruparelia: A fan-favorite, this exciting 1.96 km stage will be run twice, allowing spectators to witness the cars in close-quarters battle.

Day Two (Saturday, October 11th) amplifies the intensity with a diverse set of stages:
Noblakes: The return to this 15.01 km stage will challenge drivers to improve their previous times.
Rajiv Ruparelia: An 18.05 km stage, serving as a poignant tribute to the event’s namesake.
Pink Panther: A 13.26 km stage, known for its unique characteristics and requiring strategic driving.
David Ocaya & KCB Bank: A 12.12 km stage, highlighting key sponsors and adding another layer of challenge.
Rajiv Ruparelia Power Stage: The ultimate test, this 18.05 km stage is a repeat of the earlier Rajiv Ruparelia stage, offering crucial championship points for the fastest crews.

The entry list boasts a formidable lineup of 27 crews, including rally giants like Ponsiano Lwakataka and Ronald Sebuguzi, both eager to claim victory. Adding to the excitement, the KCB Bank-sponsored duo of Nasser Mutebi and Oscar Ntambi are set to showcase their skills, having honed them in prestigious events such as the Pearl of Africa Rally and the Fort Portal Rally.
