KCCA FC has announced the return of versatile defender Herbert Achayi, who rejoins the club from Express FC after his contract expiration.
Achayi’s reunion with KCCA FC marks a homecoming for the player, who grew from an academy graduate to a fan favorite during his previous stint with the club.

Achayi’s versatility, capable of playing across the backline, will be a valuable asset for the technical team. His experience and skills will undoubtedly strengthen the team’s defense. During his recent stint with Express FC, Achayi featured in 22 matches and played 1980 minutes in the league, averaging 90 minutes per game.
Speaking after signing his contract, Achayi expressed his excitement about rejoining his former teammates.
“It feels incredible to be back home. This club holds a special place in my heart, and I am happy to have the opportunity to represent KCCA FC once again. I am ready to give my all, work hard, and go again one more time.”

Achayi is currently in camp with the Uganda Cranes ahead of the CHAN 2024 tournament, which will take place in August 2025. His return to KCCA FC is a significant boost for the club, and fans are eagerly waiting to see him in action again.
Achayi becomes the third addition to the club in this primary transfer window, following the arrival of Ivan Ahimbisibwe and Lazaro Muhindo.
