Police FC continued their fine run in the Uganda Premier League with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Maroons FC at the Kira Road Playground on Tuesday afternoon, thanks to a brilliant first-half brace from Badia Djuma Ikamba.
The Congolese forward opened the scoring in the 18th minute after connecting beautifully with a Dennis Kalanzi cross. Ten minutes later, he struck again—this time finishing off a neat pass from Richard Matovu to double the Cops’ advantage.

Maroons pulled one back in the 42nd minute through Rogers Kiwanuka, who latched onto a Jackson Nunda assist to halve the deficit and keep the visitors in contention before halftime.
The second half proved frustrating for Maroons when Norman Boniface Odipio was sent off in the 58th minute after receiving a second yellow card, leaving them to play the remainder of the match with ten men.
Police saw out the result despite several bookings, with Lawrence Tezikya, Daniel Jakony, Ikamba, and Tonny Kiwalazi all going into the referee’s book.
