Police v Buhimba Utd Saints
Police FC head into Wednesday’s Uganda Premier League clash against Buhimba United Saints with their squad stretched thin and their early momentum fading, placing renewed pressure on Matia Lule’s charges to steady the ship at Kamwokya.
The Cops will be without key forward Bedia Djuma Ikamba, whose brave run of playing through pain finally caught up with him. The Congolese striker who has been among the league’s brightest new arrivals picked up an aggravated injury in the defeat to Kitara and is now ruled out. Ikamba has been central to Police’s attacking rhythm since joining from Rwanda’s Addax FC, contributing four goals and sitting just one behind league top scorer Ivan Ahimbisibwe.

The absentee list grows longer with Charles Bbaale back in the treatment room and Daniel Jakony serving a suspension for accumulating three yellow cards, leaving Lule to rethink his attacking options at a critical time.
Police had enjoyed a strong surge with three straight victories over Entebbe UPPC, UPDF and Maroons, but their 2–1 loss to Kitara halted that charge and dropped them from first to fourth on 14 points. A convincing result, however, could still catapult them back to the summit depending on other outcomes.

Their opponents, Buhimba United Saints, arrive in contrasting form. After a dream start with three straight wins, the promoted side has plummeted dramatically, losing five consecutive matches and hovering perilously close to the relegation places on six points.
With one side desperate to rediscover its stride and the other fighting to stop a freefall, the stage is set for a high-stakes midweek encounter loaded with urgency on both ends.

Sounds like a tough match for Police! Hopefully Lule’s team can find some momentum and get back to their best form.
