Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) will face St Lawrence in the semi finals of the University Football league.
This was confirmed at the draws held today at Kati Kati Restaurant, Lugogo bypass. IUIU qualified for the semi finals for the very first time ever since joining the league in 2016 after eliminating Kampala City 2-1 on aggregate.
However, St Lawrence ejected Ndejje University 2-1 on aggregate to make it to the last four. The first leg between IUIU and St Lawrence will be in Mbale on April 3rd then the return leg will be played on April 10th at Kavule.
In the other semi final, Uganda Martyrs will play the winner between Bugema and Muteesa 1 Royal University. Bugema versus Muteesa second leg quarter final match ended prematurely after Muteesa revealed that they were not safe to continue playing. The disciplinary committee will decide today which team will qualify.
The winner in that case will be playing Uganda Martyrs away in the first leg on April 8 then the return leg is scheduled for April 15. This year’s final will be played at Wankulukuku stadium at a date yet to be confirmed.
