Kampala University’s (KU) 2-1 victory over Kampala International University (KIU) at YES Center in Nsambya secured their place in the Pepsi University Football League quarterfinals.
Their early dominance, with goals from Joseph Kimera and Gilbert Wanume, set the tone for the match.

KIU, already eliminated, showed resilience in the second half, with substitute Kenneth Mpiima scoring in the 77th minute to ignite hopes of a comeback. However, KU’s defense held firm under pressure to seal the win.
In the other Group D match, Bugema University and Gulu University drew 1-1, allowing Bugema to top the group with 13 points, while KU advanced in second place with 12 points.
Gulu on 8 points and KIU (1 point) were eliminated, with KIU’s dismal campaign prompting their fans to call for head coach Geoffrey Akwaabai’s resignation.
