Kenyan Karan Patel has dominated the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally first day by topping the shakedown stages with an impressive time of 04:13.5 minutes.
He outperformed Samman Vohra by 00:10.6 seconds, who secured the second position. Uganda’s Michael Mukula Jr had the third-best time as Nikhil Sachania and Sodo Kaguta finished fourth and fifth respectively.

Patel’s performance sets the stage for a thrilling competition, with the rally scheduled to continue tomorrow, May 9 for the second day (rally proper day one).
It will feature three sections, including a super special stage covering 47.58 km of competitive terrain. Patel’s determination to win is evident, driven by his confidence in his Skoda Fabia Rally2 and his team’s strong sponsorship.

With heavy rains forecasted, drivers will need to balance speed and survival skills to navigate the challenging terrain in Western Uganda. Patel’s experience and conviction will likely play a significant role in his performance.
