The second round of the national motocross championship on sunday was more exciting than the previous season’s events.

The one day event saw the Musedde brothers; Eadric and Jude Kyle Musedde dominate the 65cc class, while the Katende brothers; Miguel Katende and Jonathan Katende dominate the 85cc class.

Jude Musedde

Miguel who suffered a serious injury in Kalisizo, returned with fire to beat his sibling and maintain his table lead in the 85cc class.

It was an exciting race in all classes on a dusty day leaving a big challenge for the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) to source and set up a Sandy track or add sawdust on the track to avoid much dust during the events.

Fortune Sentamu

Fortune Sentamu was still untouchable in the MX1 class beating his opponents hands down, while Maxime Vanpee despite his bike getting mechanical faults was still unfit to take on the young aggressive riders who train regularly.

In the MX125cc Gift Ssebuguzi is no doubt Uganda’s number one. The former Africa champion proved that he is a power in Uganda.

Miguel Katende

SMOC president Abdul Kateete, who led the organizing of the event urged FMU to source for funds from sponsors and support clubs.

The event also left a challenge to FMU to draw a deliberate strategic plan on to get more riders on board following the reduction of racers in many classes especially the Mx1, MX2, and the MX125 classes.

“I am highly indebted now. But am happy that the event ended well and fans who turned up enjoyed. Yes many service providers and others are still demanding their money, but I also urge the Federation to come up and support me when the accounts are released,” Kateete said.
