With the Uganda Premier League crown still hanging in the balance, KCCA FC head into a crucial showdown against URA knowing anything short of victory could severely dent their championship ambitions.

The Lugogo-based side travels to Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo on Tuesday afternoon determined to stay within touching distance of table leaders Vipers SC, who will at the same time be battling Maroons at Wankulukuku.

Separated by only three points, KCCA’s hopes now depend not only on collecting maximum points against the Tax Collectors but also on Vipers slipping up in their own encounter.
Co-coach Jackson Magera insists the focus remains firmly on handling their own assignment first before thinking about events elsewhere.

KCCA arrive with momentum and belief as the season approaches its climax, while URA enter the contest under pressure following a frustrating run of form. The Tax Collectors are still recovering from their Stanbic Uganda Cup semi-final exit to SC Villa and have failed to register victory in their last ten outings.

Despite the difficult spell, URA coach Hussein Mbalangu will look to inspire a response against one of the league’s traditional giants, having previously enjoyed positive results against KCCA.

Should KCCA secure victory and Vipers fail to win, the title battle would dramatically go down to the final day of the campaign.
