KCCA FC is bracing for a tough battle to hold on to several of its players, with seven first-team stars nearing the end of their contracts.
Among those set to become free agents are Arafat Usama Kizza, Etienne Openga Katenga, Joao Esteves Cardoso Gabriel, Mustafa Mujjuzi, Sadat Anaku, Filbert Obenchan, and Umar Lutalo.
Despite months of negotiations, the club has struggled to secure contract extensions for some of its most important players. Usama, widely regarded as KCCA’s standout performer this season, has been locked in talks, but a deal remains elusive. Sources indicate that while the player is open to staying, the club has been unwilling to meet his demands.

With no resolution in sight, multiple clubs including rivals Vipers SC have swooped in with more lucrative offers, increasing the likelihood of Kizza’s departure. Katenga, another key figure, has also drawn interest, with reports suggesting a potential move to Vipers as well.
Meanwhile, Gabriel, despite a strong finish to the season, appears set to exit, while defenders Mujjuzi and Obenchan both struggling for form may be deemed surplus to requirements. As for Anaku and Lutalo, their short-term deals are unlikely to be extended after underwhelming performances.
With the transfer window looming, KCCA risks losing a significant chunk of its squad unless swift action is taken.
