The 2025 Bika Bya Buganda Kickoff dates and venue for Football and Netball tournaments revealed.
The development took place this afternoon at Bulange in Mengo in meeting of the Bika clans chiefs and Buganda Minister for Youth, Owek Robert Sserwanja Ssaalongo.
Serwanga has confirmed May 3rd, 2025 as the kick off date for the football tournament as the netball competition will throw off on Friday 25th up to Sunday 27th at Mandela National Stadium Namboole.
The netball final will be played on 3rd May before the Bika football opener at Muteesa I Stadium Wankulukuku.
This year’s edition will have clans compete in football, netball, ekiggwo, and omweso, while adults above 35 years and children below 12 will have a chance at football seven aside.
The 2025 Bika football opening match will be between Ngabi Nnyunga and Kasimba at Muteesa I Stadium Wankulukuku.
The tournament is a grassroots sports initiative aimed at bringing clans together for cultural and social-economic purposes and has been a symbol of fostering a spirit of unity and community in the kingdom and the country as a whole.
Ngabi Nsamba emerged last year’s champions in football category. The clan secured the title with a 1-0 victory over the Mpindi while in the Netball Nnyonnyi Nnyange were the netball winners.are the Reigning champions, marking a significant achievement in this prestigious cultural tournament.
