The more the dates for the Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally (POAUR) continue to come closer, the higher the hype continues to grow.
This time round, Mbarara City Rally Club (MCRC), one of the clubs in the region where POAUR will stage, is to help some of the drivers willing to pattern with it.

Previously MCRC has been patterning with Peter Kalule, Didas Matsiko and Yasin Mukasa under the sponsorship of X-Effect and Inertia but according to the club general secretary, Richard Mugisha they are to sponsor more drivers during POAUR.
“We want promote the growth of motorsport in the country. We are going to help drivers who are willing to join us with covering the entry fee, their welfare and some fuel,” Mugisha stated.
According to Mugisha, new drivers including; Kevin Bebeto, Topher Kateera, Robert Mugabe and Patrick Ruyonga will be flying under the MCRC package during POAUR.

“The focus was initially on drivers from Mbarara and Western Uganda but we will take on other drivers from neighboring regions like Masaka and Kampala.”
POAUR will be the second round of African Rally Championship as well as the third round of Uganda National Rally Championship. It’s slated for May 8th-10th in Western region of the country, Mbarara in particular.
Eleven sections will be done covering a total distance of 486.26 km of which 298.16 km will be liaison as 188.10 km competitive.
