The Royals Park Stadium, Butema turned into theater as hosts Kitara under the stewardship of Wasswa Bbosa a former Express coach, scored 7-0 past league giants, Express FC today, Saturday evening.

The thriller left many fans questioning what really had happened to the 2021 CECAFA Kagame champions. The Red Eagles were handed their fourth loss of the Campaign.

Many funs said that if the mother federation is really fighting corruption and match fixing, this game should be the first on the list as the Eagles showed no fight to an extent that at half time even defender Herbert Achai and forward Richard Basangwa opted not to be returned to the field due to silly and stupid way they were conceding.

Most of the blame went to goalkeeper Emmanuel Kalyowa who they thought put less effort in fighting for points. For most of the time in first half, Achai was seen complaining to FC’s coach of the day Sulaiman ‘Mike’ Mutyaba on Kalyowa’s mistakes.

George Ssenkaaba’s header opened the scores just two (2) minutes into the game. Jude Ssemugabi doubled the hosts’ lead 19 minutes later with a solo run from the centre line past Hakim Wandera on the right.

The third came from Fred Amaku. Kitara went into the break with a 3-0 lead. In the second half, The Royals  just ran rampant over the Red Eagles with former Express forward Ssenkaaba completing his hat trick after netting the 4th and 5th in the 58th and 76th minute respectively.

Ssemugabi who completed his brace two minutes later and David Ndihabwe with Four minutes to the 90 minutes mark made it seven to give Kitara their Fourth win in the last 5 games.

This result lifts Kitara to 7th with 17 points level with Police, Villa and UPDF but having a better goal difference of 15 as Express stays in 5th place with 19 points.

In their next games, Kitara will visit Wakiso Giants on January 5th, 2025 while Express host Bright stars on January 2nd.
