Pepsi University Football League
Today, 4pm
KIU v MMU
Kampala International University (KIU) and Mountains of the Moon University (MMU) will be desperate to register their first win of the Pepsi University Football League season when they clash today at the Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.
Both teams have endured slow starts in Group A, managing just a single point each from their opening two matches. KIU opened their campaign with a 1–1 draw against Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) before suffering a narrow 1–0 defeat to defending champions Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) in Nkozi.
MMU’s story has been similar they began with a 1–1 stalemate away to University of Kisubi (Unik) but later fell 3–1 to Kampala University (KU) in Fort Portal City.
With only group winners guaranteed a place in the quarterfinals and three best runners-up also advancing, today’s fixture carries high stakes for both sides. A win could revive their knockout hopes; a loss could all but end them.
Group A remains finely poised after Kampala University extended their lead to seven points with a dominant 3–0 victory over Unik at the Yes Sports Arena in Nsambya. MUST and UMU trail with four points each, while KIU and MMU sit level on one point apiece, separated only by goal difference. Unik remain bottom, also on a single point.
