Ugandan international Margaret Kunihira was the star of the show on Sunday afternoon, scoring twice to lead defending champions Kenya Police Bullets to a vital 2-0 away victory over Madira Soccer Assassins.

The clinical performance at the Mombasa Municipal Stadium saw the Crested Cranes forward regain her scoring touch, ensuring the “Law Enforcers” reclaimed their spot at the top of the FKF Women Premier League table.
Kunihira, who now has ten goals in the league, has become a key figure for the Bullets since her arrival, opened the scoring in the 15th minute. She effectively put the game to bed just before the break, adding a second goal in first-half stoppage time (45+3’) to secure the three points.

While Kunihira grabbed the headlines with her brace, fellow Ugandan Zaina Namuleme was equally influential. The hardworking midfielder played the full 90 minutes, providing the defensive cover and creative spark that allowed the Bullets to control the match from start to finish.
The victory moves Kenya Police Bullets to 25 points after 11 matches, leapfrogging rivals Vihiga Queens who currently sit second with 24 points.

The Bullets’ rise to the top was also aided by a midweek walkover awarded against KISPED Queens, which provided them with the momentum needed for Sunday’s away trip.
