Lugazi FC have added firepower to their frontline with the capture of South Sudanese striker Alfred Leku, who joins from Kenya’s Police FC on a two-year deal. The 27-year-old forward will don jersey number 19 as he gears up for the upcoming Uganda Premier League season, which kicks off on Friday, September 26, 2025.

Leku arrives with a wealth of experience both at home and abroad. In Uganda, he has previously turned out for Vipers SC, Express FC, Onduparaka, Proline, Arua Hill, and URA FC, building a reputation as a powerful presence in the final third. His career has also taken him across Africa, with stints at Jwaneng Galaxy and Extension Gunners in Botswana, as well as Zesco United in Zambia.

For Lugazi, his arrival signals intent. The club will be counting on Leku’s physicality, goalscoring instinct, and experience in pressure situations to strengthen their attacking options and make a statement in the new campaign.
