Lugazi FC have officially completed the signing of forward Umar Kyebatala from Mbale Heroes FC, strengthening their attacking options in the ongoing secondary transfer window.
The youthful striker has penned a two-year contract with the club and links up with his new teammates immediately, becoming Lugazi’s second acquisition of the mid-season window.
Kyebatala joins Lugazi after spending one and a half seasons at Mbale Heroes, having signed for the Eastern Uganda side in July 2024. Prior to that, he featured for Maroons FC for two seasons in the Uganda Premier League.
The forward made his top-flight debut in 2019 while at Vipers SC, earning promotion after impressive performances for St. Mary’s Kitende in the Copa Coca-Cola and FEASSA school competitions. He also previously represented Kibuli Secondary School before making the move to the Kitende-based side.
His arrival is expected to add pace and energy to Lugazi’s frontline as they push for a strong finish to the season.
