Lugazi Football Club has bolstered its squad ahead of the new season with the addition of holding midfielder Amos Etoju, who has penned a two-year deal with the ambitious side. The versatile midfielder joins from Kitara FC, where he spent the latter half of the 2024/25 season after transferring from Mbale Heroes.
Though his time at Kitara was short, Etoju made seven appearances across competitions, having previously clocked ten league games for Mbale Heroes in the first round. The 25-year-old is now eager to embrace a fresh challenge in Lugazi colors.
“This is a big opportunity for me,” Etoju shared during his unveiling. “Lugazi FC is a club with vision, and I’m here to give everything on and off the pitch. I’m determined to grow here and contribute to the club’s progress.”
He added: “Challenges are part of the journey, but I’m mentally prepared and focused. I believe this is the right step in my football journey.”
Etoju brings a wealth of experience to the midfield engine room. Renowned for his positional intelligence, combative style, and ability to transition play smoothly, he offers defensive solidity and attacking balance. While his primary role will be anchoring the midfield, his flexibility allows him to slot in at center-back when needed.
Over the years, Etoju has built a solid résumé, having featured for a range of clubs including Ngora Freda Carr, MYDA FC, Jinja North United, Busoga United, and BUL FC all of which have helped shape his tactical maturity and leadership on the field.
As Lugazi FC gears up for the new campaign, Etoju’s arrival adds steel and experience to a team looking to make serious strides in Ugandan football.
