The long-waited Uganda rally enthusiasts’ dream has finally become a reality as two highly anticipated rally cars land in the country.
It was late last year when news broke that Moses Lumala’s Ford Fiesta NRC Evo2 and Duncan ‘Kikankane’ Mubiru’s Ford Fiesta NRC Proto were ready for shipment from Latvia. They set off from Riga in early December 2024.
On Monday the two cars landed in the country as they wait to be cleared and officially unveiled to the fans in an event yet to be decided.
According to the sources, these machines were meant to be in the country before the start of the 2025 National Rally Championship calendar but due to unforeseen shipping circumstances, the arrival delayed thus forcing Kikankane to use the Subaru GVB in the Lumala @60 Mum @90 Mbarara Rally which took place in January. Lumala who too had to participate in the event, missed.
Lumala and Kikankane’s cars, were fine-tuned by rally experts in Latvia.
