Ponsiano Lwakataka continued to prove that he wants this year’s National Rally Championship has he got his second 2025 season victory in Masaka.
Lwakataka and his co driver Paul Musaazi in a Subaru Impreza N12 started the event on a high as the won day one in Masaka with a 00:48:50.10 minutes time.
He didn’t look back on event day two in Ssembabule protecting the lead until the final finish line. He posted an overall 1:29:28:49 time. He won 4 sections out of the event’s 9.

“Am happy to win from home. Am thirsty for the championship. This year am going to fight so that I win it and give my fans and sponsors joy,” said excited Lwakataka.
Ronald Sebuguzi and Anthony Mugambwa in the Ford Fiesta Proto were in second position posting a total time of 1:34:53:76. Musa Ssegaabwe sealed the podium on a 1:37:37:36 total time. This is Ssegaabwe’s first NRC podium finish.

Duncan Mubiru ‘Kikankane’ on return of his Ford Fiesta Proto, managed a fourth place finish.
In the two-wheel category, Ahmed Senyonjo, claimed the victory followed by Amir Kavuma as Edward Kirumira was in third.
In the Clubman Rally Championship, Ahmed Kateete on 1:27:04:57 total time, Walter Kibande (1:47:45:15) and Kevin Bebeto (1:50:04:11) had the first, second and third places respectively.
The third round of NRC is scheduled for May in Mbarara and this time round it will be the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally.
