There’s no more mathematics and there is no more chance nor hope for Mbale Heroes FC’s survival, it’s now official, they have been relegated with 4 Games still to play.

The Mbale based side became the first team to be relegated from the 2024–2025 Uganda Premier League after a 1-0 home defeat to Maroons FC.

Norman Odipio’s alone strike in the 27th minute of the game guided Maroons FC to maximum points this evening.

Mbale Heroes occupies the last position with 10 points in 26 Uganda Premier League matches this season. This has been their 20th defeat in the season. They won 2 drawing 4.

The club also faced internal problems, including endless infighting among top officials, accusations of match-fixing, arrests of fans and officials and other controversies.

They changed coaches multiple times—Richard Malinga, Asaph Mwabaze, Wamboya Abu Mubarak (interim), and Baker Mbowa—and signed 12 players in the January secondary transfer window in hopes of turning the season around, but to no success.

Mbale Heroes had returned to the Uganda Premier League after 17 years of absence, but they now find themselves back in the FUFA Big League while Maroons are 8th on Uganda Premier League table with 37 points in 26 matches.
