The Management of Gomba Ssaza Football Club has announced the talented Midfielder Michael Abura as their first official signing for the 2025 masaza Cup season.
The Gomba lions have signed the 2023/24 Fustal Super League MVP from Mawokota Ssaza were he has been played for the last two season and was the team captain .
The expectional player guided his team Catda Football Club to crowned the champions of the Kampala Region League 2024-25 Season and was also named the most valuable player of Kampala region .
The ‘Lufula boys’ defeated Ntinda United Football Club 4-2 via penalty shout-outs having shared spoils 0-0 in the Normal time and Michael Abura was the team Captain.
Abura came with vast experience having managed to win the 2023/24 Fustal Super League and Fustal Uganda cup with park fc and was named the most valuable player .
He has also previously featured for Buweekula Ssaza, Mawokota, Park fc in Fustal and St Lawrence university .
Five-time winners Gomba Ssaza team has entered residential traning and has been intensified preparations for the 2025 Masaza Cup tournament .
Gomba last won the Masaza Cup in 2020, defeating Buddu 3-1 in Kitende following 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2017 victory in the Masaza cup.
The prestigious tournament is slated to kick off on 21 June 2025 at Kitovu Sports Arena in Masaka and Buddu Ssaza is the reigning champion of the Buganda Masaza .
