Mawogola Ssaza Football Team have officially unveiled new head coach Asaph Mwebaze and his backroom staff ahead of the new season of the 2025 Masaza Cup.
The Unveiling ceremony which took place Tuesday evening on 27th, May 2025 at Mawogola Ssaza headquarters was graced by Mawogola County Chief Muteesa John, Mawogola team manager Rev F.r .Mbuga Denis and Vice chairman administration Salongo Uthuman katerega .
The experienced gaffer will work with Ssempa Suliman and Kachwa Gerald his assistants while Sharif Ssengoba Kizza and Etou Gideon are Goal Keeper coach and fitness coach respectively.
Mwebaze has vast of experience having managed in Uganda Premier league at Maroons, Soltilo Bright Stars, Onduparaka FC and Mbale Heroes
He has also previously worked with Nyamityobora FC and Soccer Shots Houston Texas U17 Academy.
Upon his unveiling, Asaph Mwebaze had this to say:
“I’m happy to be here. Our fans can testify and remember me very well. We promise to bring happiness and perform better.p we hope to fight for the trophy in this Season, he said.”
Mawogola have never won this prestigious tournament but have twice came closer to clinching the title.
Their only best performances in this tournament came in 2004 and 2009 where they lost to Gomba in both finals only to walk away with silver medals.
The prestigious tournament is slated to kick off on 21th June 2025 at Kitovu Sports Arena in Masaka.
