Mawokota FC, a three-time Masaza Cup champion, hosted a glamorous fundraising dinner at Jevine Hotel in Rubaga, Kampala, yesterday.

The event, spearheaded by Mawokota County Chief Owek Sarah Nanonno Kaweesi and Patron Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa, aimed to boost the team’s bid for the fourth Masaza Cup title.

The event drew top Mawokota personalities and well-wishers, including Hon. Hillary Kiyaga, Hon. Teddy Nambooze, Mpigi LC5 Martin Ssejemba, Harunah Kyobe (Team Manager), and Simon Njuba (CEO of Vipers SC), among others.

Funds Raised

The fundraising dinner raised over 36 million shillings from Mawokota fans and supporters. The funds will support the team’s campaign for the 2025 Masaza Cup.

Message from Leaders

Mawokota County Chief Owek Sarah Nanono Kaweesi expressed gratitude to the fans and well-wishers for their support. “I extended my gratitude towards the well-wishers and fans who honored the cause and attended the fundraising dinner,” she said.

Mawokota Patron, Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa called for unity and discipline among the team members and supporters. “I call for unity and discipline for everyone towards the Mawokota football team, and I pledged full backing for Mawokota ahead of the 2025 Masaza Cup campaign,” he said.

Upcoming Matches

Mawokota FC will unveil their players for the 2025 season on Sunday, June 15, with a friendly match against Busiro. The team is set to make a strong bid for the Masaza Cup title, which they last won in 2013.
