Mbale Hereos has issued a statement announcing Baker Mbowa as their new head coach on a two-year deal, replacing Asaph Mwebaze, who recently parted ways with the club after being suspended.

In the statement, the Surgeons stated that, “Coach Mbowa comes in with a wealth of experience in the league, bringing a deep passion for nurturing young talents, which aligns with the clubs vision and mission.”

“We are confident that his leadership will enhance our performance as a football club in Africa, both on and off the field.”

Mboowa came has a free agent having left Express FC following a defeat to Lugazi FC early this season in October. He previously coached at Express, Proline FC and Soltilo Bright Stars FC .

Abu Mubarak Wamboya has been the interim coach for Mbale Heroes. Mbowa becomes the fourth coach to take charge of the club after Asaph Mwebaze, Mubarak Wamboya and Richard Malinga.

Mbowa will be tasked to guide the Mbale based club to safety following an abysmal start to the season. He will start his journey as Mbale Hereos’ coach when he faces Simba FC on Sunday at Gayaza in Uganda Cup round of 64.

The Surgeons are currently 2nd last on the table with nine points after 13 league games played.
